Someone mentioned Robot City Games & Arcade in Binghamton, NY in their feedback to Ferg not too long ago: robotcitygames.com/This caught my attention because although I don't live there anymore, I grew up in Binghamton, and still go there a few times a year. I intended to go and check it out right away. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get there as much lately, and when I did, we had other plans and I couldn't fit it in. But this last weekend, I was finally able to squeeze in a few hours there, and I must say, I am very impressed. The store carries lots of great retro video game stuff. I was seriously tempted by an Atari Pong console. The game selection was pretty good, much better than my local retro video game store which is very NES-centric. I didn't get to spend too much time in the actual store, so that will have to wait for a future visit. I did, however, spend a few hours in the arcade with my son. It was the first time he played a pinball machine - he had a blast! They have an amazing selection of games. We enjoyed playing several two player games. I got to enjoy a few arcade classics I've really been wanting to play on the actual machine - specifically Robotron 2084. We don't have an arcade like this close to home at all! If you are ever in this part of Upstate New York, you should definitely make the time to swing by. I'm glad I did!! How about everyone else here? Does anyone else have little gems like this they want to share? --Troff

I'm lacking any sort of retro game store or retro arcade nearby.
If I ever venture back to Syracuse, maybe I can convince the missus to detour to Binghamton. Sounds like a blast!

Next time I visit my relatives in Buffalo/Niagara Falls/St Catharines, I will try and stop here. I want to play Sinistar! Crabtowne USA is probably the closest place that has a significant amount of old arcade and pinball games. There are some games down at the beach, mostly newer pinballs games, which I do appreciate. www.crab-towne.com/arcade-games/

I get down to Maryland once in a great while, and the next time I do, this is definitely on my list!

*snip* Buffalo/Niagara Falls *snip* i've been to two places in the USA... Buffalo & Niagara... (although the canadian side is much nicer) apart from the helicopter ride over the falls, the thing that sticks in my mind is trying to order a pizza and buffalo wings over the phone from our hotel room in buffalo, the person on the line couldn't understand a thing i was saying and i eventually had to hand the phone to my girlfriend who proceeded to put on a fake american accent and was understood right away... that was the day that i realised i had an accent...

I think I mentioned in one of Ferg's podcasts last year about "The Place" in Cincinnati that closed down last year. Willie had been there a few times and featured them on Arcade USA. Anyway, its a shame that they close down, and it was not for financial reasons. All indications is that the business was booming, but Cary, the owner, could not get any time with his family. So that is understandable. Here's their old website: theplaceretroarcade.weebly.com/Now, Cincinnati has two barcades and then there is one in the nothern 'burbs in a dead mall called Arcade Legacy. Supposedly, Bass Pro and Arcade Legacy are the only reasons people go to this dead mall. www.arcadelegacyohio.com/

It's a good place start a collection if you're planning on owning a Retron 77!

Being in Northern Kentucky, it is a hike up to Fairfield! I have been to their Bar Edition, and it was OK...lots of machines weren't working, however. 16-Bit in Over-The-Rhine is cool, however. I hear the owner of Arcade Legacy wants to make a Northern Kentucky venue in Newport. That would be ideal for me!

Once you enter, look around to the left, they have a shelf near the floor, near this you should see some blue storage tubs overflowing with them, and another batch around back of the cashier counter in the glass case.

There's hope for me yet! "Old Fashioned Arcade Proposed"It's not as convenient for me now that I've moved but it's still my "neighborhood". Hopefully this works out!

I finally made it to Funspot - "The largest arcade in the world" - which includes the American Classic Arcade Museum. Got to see and play lots of cool classics, including some rare stuff like Cloak & Dagger. www.funspotnh.com/My personal favorite - Hercules - a HUGE pinball game made by Atari. The ball is a billiard cue ball - you would not believe how huge the flippers are. Also really enjoyed playing Asteroids. Amazing how nice those vector screens look in person. Attachments:

Nice! I need to get back there. I played the Hercules table many years ago at a flea market, it's a weird thing.
