Glad to see that, despite your tanking, you were able to complete the task. I'm tankful for that!

listening to the feedback i find it interesting that this game seems to divide people into two camps, the battlezoners who like a stark, primitive game that often sneaks up behind them and shoots them in the back, and the robotankers who like a game to be an enjoyable affair with the chance of a colourful sunset and the prospect of a new dawn... i also find it interesting that "bollocks" isn't considered a swear in the US

And Britons don't get uppity about hearing "fuck" on television, right? That buggered my mind when I heard about it from a girl I was.........seeing for a while. She was a nice blonde English transplant who thought it was great that we use "fanny" to mean the other side of the body from what Brits mean.
("Buggered" isn't a swear word over here either, because few Yanks know what it means.)
"Turret's Syndrome" was brilliant. Brilliant, I tell you!

And Britons don't get uppity about hearing "fuck" on television, right? no, and certainly not after the "watershed" at 9pm, when the kiddies are in bed (cos we all know kids only have a limited vocabulary don't we!), there's pretty much a language quota in the broadcast guidelines, so a production company are allowed a big bag of fucks, a couple of cunts, as much arse as you like, etc... oddly, those rules are even more relaxed on bbc radio 4, which is often considered the most high brow of our radio stations, where you'll often hear colourful language during the day, in radio plays etc... *i'd like to take a second to apologise to anyone offended by the language contained in this post, but colourful DOES have a U in it...

You're not causing any "offense" among fellow adults, my friend -- I tend to just type the so-called naughty words and assume that if the forum chief doesn't want certain language used, he'll activate the automatic "replace vowels with asterisks" tool. Having said that, if you think kids are reading and you don't want that sort of talk, Ferg, obviously just say the word.
I put the word "offense" in quotes because I've wondered why it's become so trendy to be thin-skinned. Young people have gotten it all wrong. You're not supposed to want to be a victim, or possess delicate ears. It's an interesting talking point, albeit off-topic. Have you guys thought about that? What does that really mean -- to be "offended"? How is that even possible? If one isn't a child who's had his balloon taken away, and he convinces himself that he feels "offended," he's really been looking for something to be "offended" by. I'd offer the friendly suggestion that he (or she, more often) find a more positive hobby.
This myth that it's somehow empowering to self-victimize or self-infantilize is turning young adults into wimps. And now you've got me on my Freedom of Speech soapbox by innocently typing a single word, so I'll stop ramble-typing and get back on topic before Ferg uses the aforementioned language on ME. And who could blame him at this point!
It's funny how different Battle Zone and Robot Tank are, in terms of actual game-play, when one considers that they're both (technically) first-person tank games. The comparison is understandable, but the "real space" in the arcade conversion versus the Alan Miller approach of "all the action is in front of you, never mind the illusion of a 3-D plain" really makes them different, especially in terms of strategy, prioritizing survival above points, and fannies.
