Good episode to get back into the swing of things after the holidays! I must say, when I was listening to this at work, and when I heard Greg's theme song come on, I almost spit out the water I was drinking and embarrassed myself in front of my colleague. That intro makes me laugh every time!

Something in the Goldbergs didn't sit right with me when I watched it. I think it's the ping-ponging of cultural references that bothers me, it tries too hard to be all 80s, all the time. Stranger Things really captured the 80s vibe I guess by not hitting you over the head with it. Still, I always like when classic games are on current TV shows, so I'll watch it eventually. That is one big complaint I have with the Goldbergs as well; it's always 1980 something which gives them carte blanche to use whatever 80's reference they want wherever they want independent of the overall show timeline. I get why they did it, but it's still irritating at times to see late 80's stuff on an earlier show and vice versa. I actually thinks that is one of things that really makes it work, however. This is supposedly older Adam remembering back to his childhood, and I know I get times and dates jumbled up with things that should have been earlier or later in the 80s. Love the Goldbergs and I am glad its still going strong. The episode where Charlie Sheen guest-starred at the very end was genius!

I have listened to the first part of the podcast, Ferg, on my drive back from the Carolinas yesterday. Hope to finish it up later this week when I return to work! Looking forward to the next game episode.

Hi All,
KevinO, here. I finally got around to registering for Ferg's Forums! Here are a few facts about me:
*Grew up in Iowa. Yes, if you build it, Kevin Costner will come. *I now live in the Cincinnati Metro area. *I am married and my wife and I have two little girls. *My eldest daughter's (3 years old) favorite Atari game seems to be Jungle Hunt *My wife and I (well, mostly me, but the wife indulges as well) are Mario nuts. Date night sometimes consists of getting the girls to bed, and then getting a few drinks and playing Super Mario Bros. 1, 3, or the new 3D World for WiiU.
Currently, I am playing a lot of Star Wars Battlefront. With all the DLC out now, the game is extremely fun. I also just got a bunch of Resident Evil games for my birthday, so I will have to check those out in-between Battlefront and the 2600 and NES games.
Favorite 2600 game? Hmmm...as a kid, I always had the most fun with Berzerk!
Besides Ferg, I also try to listen to Sprite Castle for C64 games, No Quarter, and the Atari XEGS podcast.
Looking forward to chatting with everyone!
