The only Flashback I ever bought was last year's portable. I have never bought one of the TV units. However, this year's 8 Gold or 8 Gold Activision edition may make me pull the trigger. But the RetroN 77 looks sweet too, but they may have to bring the price down from $80 for me to be on board. Either way, I am glad Atari interest amongst other gamers (not just us here on Ferg's forums or over at AtariAge) is trending up a bit, even if it is ever so slightly.
Also, high five to Ferg for not having a HDMI-compliant TV. Living the dream in Standard DEF!

I think I mentioned in one of Ferg's podcasts last year about "The Place" in Cincinnati that closed down last year. Willie had been there a few times and featured them on Arcade USA. Anyway, its a shame that they close down, and it was not for financial reasons. All indications is that the business was booming, but Cary, the owner, could not get any time with his family. So that is understandable. Here's their old website: theplaceretroarcade.weebly.com/Now, Cincinnati has two barcades and then there is one in the nothern 'burbs in a dead mall called Arcade Legacy. Supposedly, Bass Pro and Arcade Legacy are the only reasons people go to this dead mall. www.arcadelegacyohio.com/Arcade legacy also has a large selection of loose Atari 2600 carts (mostly common ones). It's a good place start a collection if you're planning on owning a Retron 77! John, thanks for the heads up! I actually have yet to make it up to Arcade Legacy. Being in Northern Kentucky, it is a hike up to Fairfield! I have been to their Bar Edition, and it was OK...lots of machines weren't working, however. 16-Bit in Over-The-Rhine is cool, however. I hear the owner of Arcade Legacy wants to make a Northern Kentucky venue in Newport. That would be ideal for me!

I just got caught up with you, Ferg, after falling behind a few shows. Will have to listen to this tomorrow. My wife and I are getting are house ready to sell in the next two weeks, so I have not been able to play Galaxian or Pete Rose to give you feedback. Maybe later this fall once we move into our new house?

I am actually still slowly but surely getting through the episode. Love Joe's interview so far. Unfortunately, I only have a few fleeting moments everyday to listen, so the episode is being divided up into chucks. I am behind curveball so to speak, so no spoilers for Galaxian in this thread, please!

Loved the paper boy bonus episode, Ferg! My mom wouldn't let me have a paper route in the late 80s/early 90s because she was paranoid after that kid Johnny Gosch got abducted in the early 80s while on his paper route. I always wanted to do it, but she absolutely refused because of him getting kidnapped. I don't know if it was added paranoia because Gosch got abducted in Iowa, and we also lived in Iowa (albeit, 3 hours away from where he was taken).
Seems like the early 80s is when perception and overprotection of children started to happen across the nation. Besides Gosch (which you can read up on him on Wikipedia if you don't know his story), this also around the time Adam Walsh was abducted and murdered.
Sorry for the downer of the post, but just thought I would tell you why I was never allowed to have my own paper route and hearing you talk about it reminded me about those times.

Thanks for responding, Shinto! So glad you enjoyed the film from Blackhawk...and if I was a betting man, I would say that my grandmother DID touch your film before it went out the door of Blackhawk and to your door at your house!
I also agree about viewing the old time commercials. My wife was casually watching while my daughter and I were watching and her interest got totally piqued when the Barbie Exercise Room commercial came on. She stopped what she was doing and started having what I guess is her version of our nerdgasms...but that it was about Barbie and it was from the female's perspective!

Hey Ferg, I sent you audio feedback via Apple's "Mail Drop" service (due to the largeness of the file). Let me know if you didn't receive it. Thanks!

Hey Ferg, In between me asking about sending in feedback (above) and now, my grandmother went from being fine, to the hospital due to a complication, and now has been moved to hospice. Suffice to say, I will give you feedback about QBert later in a future show. She is in a lot of pain, so just asking all of you Ferg-fanatics to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

I was planning on playing it last week but never got around to it. I was aiming to play it tomorrow (Friday) afternoon since I am coming home early from work for the weekend. If you are still excepting submissions Friday night, I may have some!

So Nintendo finally revealed more details last week with the Switch and showed off some of their lineup. I think the basic premise seems pretty cool: a system that can be played at home and on the go. I guess it is just a bit of an evolution of the Wii U. Though you could play many of the games on the Wii U gamepad while someone else used the TV for other things, you couldn't leave the vicinity of the Wii U as the gamepad would lose connectivity.
I am not sure I will get one off the bat when it releases like I did the Wii U. I think I would like to see some other third party games first, and maybe wait for Super Mario Odyssey. However, the new Zelda does look amazing. The "Arms" game looks entertaining as well. Thoughts?
