I thought I'd share this unique product that is being sold on Ebay by the Atari Museum. Here is the description from the auction: This is a prototype of the Atari 2500 all in one game console designed around 1982. It appears to be a Sunnyvale engineering response to the Atari WCI/NY Atari 2000 product. This unit is much better designed and built, meant to have not just joysticks but a combination joystick and paddle controller built in while on the back the unit has external ports to use any external Atari josyticks, paddles, keypads and trakballs. A Gray unit was found back in 1997 and the black version has also been located, comparing the two the units, the black has a more Atari look to it that its Gray version. Only one mention of the Atari 2500 is made in any documentation that has been found, just a mention of its model # in an engineering logbook in the Atari Museum website archival library. Photos of the gray version are up on the website already and the black version images will be added to that page as well. Here is the link to the auction: Atari Prototype - 2500 Game console, unreleased. Unit is working.

If only the woodgrain is holding you back, you can always do a mod of the console if you get it! LOL

yeah, but i'd always be aware that it wasn't original... wouldn't want to ruin the experience for myself...
