Hi - I'm Mike - Troff on AtariAge.
I didn't start listening to The Podcast until around episode 95, but I wish I had started a lot earlier. I've listened to a lot of the back catalog as I've been able to fit it in, but I'm not sure I'll ever be able to "catch up".
I look forward to each and every episode. First of all, the content is great. Ferg does a great job of covering background material, gameplay, and collectability information. I think what really makes this podcast special, however, is Ferg himself. His personality comes through in the podcast loud and clear. He seems to be such a genuinely nice guy, and consequently, a wonderful community seems to have sprung up around himThe feedback from listeners add even more wonderful value to the show.
I'm so glad to have this forum to be able to interact more directly with this great little community!
I got my Four Switch Woody in 1981. I still have it today, although it's a little flaky. As a matter of introduction, I'd like to do something I heard a lot of people do in their feedback on the earlier episodes, but I haven't heard anyone do in the more recent episodes: cover what games I had as a kid. It sometimes amazes me when I hear some of the detailed memories that you all have of when and where you got the games. Unfortunately, for the most part, that is all lost in the depths of my mind.
Here's what I had:
Air Sea Battle
Outlaw
E.T.
Race (Sears Indy 500)
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Dodge 'Em
Pac-Man
Combat
Frogger
River Raid
Pitfall
Kaboom!
Missile Command
Video Pinball
There were several more that I have fond memories of from playing at friends or cousin's houses, but these were the ones I logged most of my time on. I already shared my feedback on the 3 Activision titles on the podcast, but I have a short little story on Race that I'll probably share on here sometime soon.
Thank you Ferg for all that you do!
