Couldn't resist... these were... I think 3 bucks total at Goodwill... and for some reason it won't let me add more than one attachment. I've got two monitors, so I'm cheating.

This is my current PC setup for those who might care with that new keyboard.
Though I have taken off the wrist rest on the keyboard since I took this because the keyboard at an angle like this is more comfortable to type and game on... and that wrist rest was causing it to be further back than necessary.
The tower for "Bertha" is on the floor. Specifications are as follows.
3.4ghz (3.9ghz turbo) quad core/eight thread i7-4770 32GB of DDR3 RAM 8GB Geforce GTX 1070 Ti on a 24" Asus 144hz gaming monitor. The secondary is a regular 60hz Asus. 1TB SSD boot drive 480GB SSD 240GB SSD 3TB and 1TB mechanical hard drives External USB DVD burner for the rare times I need to use a disc... and external 1TB and 3TB hard drives

Nice set up and some nice specs too. I've been thinking of changing my OS hard drive on my desktop to an SSD. I have a laptop with an SSD and it is amazing how fast that is. I need to recreate the current HDD on an SSD, though, so I don't have to go through the headaches of reinstalling all the software.

That is a sweet setup Dhalamar ! I’m not an expert on graphics cards but is that the latest NVIDIA ? I think you have just about enough power to run Stella and enough storage for 2600 roms

I haven't even had any of them hooked up in I don't know how long now.

Downloading stuff off of Steam and whatnot is somewhat problematic because my internet is shit though. Hell, even installing Windows 10? Probably about 10 minutes. SSD, while it doesn't really do anything for gaming, is probably the best upgrade I've done as far as overall system usability though. My boot times went down from a couple of minutes to about 20 seconds. lol And the prices for SSDs have gone down a lot, though they're still significantly more expensive than a regular mechanical drive. heh

Improving boot time is the main reason for an SSD. There's software to clone the hard drive entirely into another as a boot drive and all. It also copies all the hidden partitions, etc. I just need to get to it.

It also copies all the hidden partitions, etc. I just need to get to it. That's why I tend to keep things simple. My main boot drive is, for the most part, pretty empty. I mostly use Ninite on a 32GB flash drive that I re-download every 6-8 months along with graphics drivers, mouse drivers, stuff Ninite doesn't cover like GOG Galaxy, Origin, EA, Battle.net, blah blah blah. Everything of note are on other hard drives. Games, ROMs, CD/DVD images, movies, music, pictures, blah blah blah blah... and I've got backups on flash drives and external hard drives of the MUCH bigger shit like MAME ROMs, MS-DOS games collection (that's almost 400GB) ... PS2 games. Shit like that. That's kinda why the upgrade to the 1TB SSD was pretty painless. Immediately upon logging in, the system was 99% ready to use. Just a little bit of clicking to get it totally ready.

I like to customize my stuff. So, that's the price I pay for it.

I think I'm gonna have to start keeping track of what Stepehn King books I've got so I don't accidentally get them twice...
Got some more the other day.
Stephen King: Bag of Bones, Gerald's Game, Rose Madder and Dreamcatcher. Tabitha King - The Trap Anne Rice - Lasher Peter Straub - Ghost Story Richard Matheson - I Am Legend/Hell House
Nothing spiffy about them, they were a dollar apiece. All paperbacks. All "well read" and whatnot. I just like having the physicals around even though I've got all of them in my Google Play Books thing on the phone.

I like the Flashback 9.
Can't stand those fucking controllers though... the dead zone feels like it's about 10 miles.

I've had the PS3 version of Sleeping Dogs for a while now, finally popped it in and kinda got into it.
The PC version was on sale for $4 and somethin, so I went ahead and got that version. I figure "720p, Low detail, 20-30fps... or my computer running Ultra settings in 1080p at 60 or 4K at 30." The combat in that game feels like it'd benefit from a higher frame rate anyway.

haha Well, looks like I was underestimating a bit.
In 1440p, Extreme detail (though I turned the AA down 2 levels to "Normal") 70+fps, largely the same with 1080p. Bump it up to 4K at the High preset (again, turning down the AA) same thing.
Which kinda tells me if one is willing to play it at console levels of performance (30fps) it'll run on practically anything other than probably Intel integrated video of course.

Just got The Amazing Spider-Man 2 for PS3. $6.50. hehe
It's kind of breaking my new rule of not getting the console version of a game I already have on PC, but I don't legally have it on PC... and there's no way to GET it legally because of licensing nonsense.
Which is why I wasn't all that worried about pirating it.
