it's pronounced id-odd i was born in 1967... my first games console was a crimbo pressi in the mid 70's, a Grandstand pong type thing (with hockey, squash, etc)... by the time the VCS made an appearance here in the UK, i had discovered girls and bass guitars, so i never owned a VCS when i was a teenager, which was probably just as well because my family weren't affluent by any stretch and i'd have ended up with whatever game(s) it came with and maybe any i'd have been able to shoplift, there was no way i could have afforded to buy new games back then... my girlfriend's dad got a console in 1983 and i used to annoy her by wanting to stay at her house playing Adventure and Haunted House, instead of dossing in the back of the graveyard with cider, glue and johnnies... oddly, i don't remember when it was that i got my first 2600... but i think it was sometime in the mid 90's... all the VCS's i own are PAL, so i tend to use my NTSC 7800 to play games (it's a colour thing)... if i remember rightly, i've been listening since around the time of episode 4 or 5, though i started at ep 1 and quickly caught up... i think it was a recommendation by Rob O'Hara that was to blame for my finding the podcast (the same can be said for a lot of podcasts i listen to)

Thank you Bobbi, and thank you for the gifts! I can't wait to open them. I THINK Crimbo is Christmas (I've only ever seen it as Crimble), but I'm at a loss for pressi. Welcome to the forums!

Pleased to meet you iddod ! "dossing in the back of the graveyard with cider, glue and johnnies" sounds like a good premise for a homebrew sequel to Haunted House

Strudders - i'm not convinced it would make it past the censors... (i'm not entirely sure it'd be all that healthy for a CX40 either) Ferg - you're correct with crimbo, it does seem to be a very local thing though, I've not anyone from outside of Leeds use the term... and a pressi is a present...

Ah, a present, that makes sense. We would spell that as prezzie over here. I guess that's why we can't have nice things. 😝

Hi idod! It's great to hear from another listener in England. And I love the slang! :0)
