My name is Matt, and I'm an Atari addict. There, I said it. I have no intention of kicking the habit, either.
I got an Atari 7800 for Christmas in '86, after years of begging my parents for a 2600 like my friends all had. While the NES took over the gaming world quickly after that, I still liked my Atari and quickly amassed a large collections of games since they were easy to come by at that point. I played it a ton, and have had a soft spot for Atari ever since. I eventually sold it and my games like all of us probably did, and I regret it like all of us probably do. Over the years my collection of gaming consoles had grown and shrank and grown again as space and life considerations have changed, but my love of gaming has been constant throughout.
I love listening to the show for a lot of reasons, but the feedback portion is probably my favorite part. The personal stories people share are wonderful - I never would have imagined there were so many people who were so passionate about gaming, and more importantly gaming memories with friends and family. Ferg is a gracious host, giving each of us our "airtime" with equal attention.
I write a column for The Retrogaming Times, a bi-monthly newsletter. It's called "Retrogaming Feels", and it is sort of a game review column with a focus on how i felt when playing the game. You can check it out, and a lot of other great articles, at www.classicplastic.net/trt/
