Decided to go ahead and join I used to post on Atariage quite a bit but enjoy Atari.IO more now I have another forum to keep up with here now (Thanks Ferg!)
I have been into arcade games since the age of 5 (back in good ole 1972) when I was really into play the electromeachanical games until Pong arrived. I used to ask my brother to take me to the mall to play poong (say poo with ng attached) My big bro always got a kick out that. Through the years as I took a interest in electronics I was repairing TV's, Radios and such with my father. Was I hit 16 and got my car, I really got into the Arcade scene. I was lucky to be a teenager in the golden era of arcades, so much fun! Cars, girls, games, girls, drive in theaters, girls. did I mention girls .
From around the age of 11 I used to spend time at my local arcade helping out in the back repairing machines as something fun to do. The owner of the arcade was friends with my dad and gave me free games anytime I came in for helping out (whoo hoo!) it kind of faded when I turned 16 and got my car.....girls you know........ but I still would go in there with my date on the weekends and have a great time.
when I met my wife in 89, our big thing for date night was go see a movie (drive in theater, oh ya!) and get the arcade for some late night gaming. Mainly played games such as Gauntlet, Golden Axe, Tempest and some other classics. We still go to arcades today, but they are not the same in my area. mainly redemption machines I have been approached numerous times to open up a Arcade USA arcade in my local area, just dont have the time. maybe when I retire
Love the Atari 2600GBGP since day 1, Ferg is such a great guy and a very good friend. I am still on my quest to find at least one of my original games when I had my Atari back when I lived in Indiana. All my cart boxes and carts had my initials on them (WJC), so anytime I am in Indiana, I hit the local flea markets, pawn shops and game stores looking for those initials. Be so cool to find one of my original games!
Now I saw Fergy has some rules....
1. Please do not post or ask for roms of any kind. They are illegal.
Yaar, shiver me timbers.........
2. Please introduce yourself in the Introduce Yourself forum after you've registered. We'd like to get to know you! (Yes we would.)
No, I like to remain anonymous and drink my absinthe and live in my happy place.
3. Please be nice to one another. We are all just here to have fun, and I don't want to have to ban anyone.
I hate you......hee hee
4. If you have any questions on how a forum operates, please see the user guide here.
My eyes are 50 years old, I cant see the text anymore.
5. Please don't put anything too large into the forum (pictures etc.), I can't pay for this and I don't know if that will increase the ads that will appear starting in November.
so I guess my dancing videos are out.....hee hee
Just joking around, think it is really cool these forums were created. Will be fun to pop in once in a while to discuss games Ferg goes over
