Good idea iddod. Always interesting to see what others are getting. And it's free too ! I've slowed down my purchases this year but do get the occasional game as a treat. I got 3 carts for fairly cheap, and importantly, with cheap shipping. Have had them sitting in my 'arcade' unopened for a couple of weeks and thought I'd open and share on this thread. These are from Canada. For some reason I get better shipping quotes from there.

I don't have pics at the moment, but I did pick up Lost Luggage, Beany Bopper, Super Challenge Baseball, Super Challenge Football, Real Sports Football, and Space Attack, all for 9 dollars total. Got them more for collecting than playing I'll admit, but I'll probably give them all a try at some point. I watched Phil's review of Lost Luggage on YouTube last night, and it looks kind of fun.

View Attachment(apologies for the lil pic, but it seems you need to click the thumbnail to view the proper picture) Defender II / Stargate continues to elude me... I had it and played it as a kid, so the nostalgia is there for me, but I can't drop eBay prices on it for some reason. I keep hoping to see a copy at one of the retro stores in the area at some point.

By the way, was really tempted to pick up a copy of Gremlins at one of the retro stores I go to; only wanted 25 for it. I have trouble dropping that much money on n Atari game though, especially when there's so many others to be had for a dollar or two.

I keep hoping to see a copy at one of the retro stores in the area at some point. is it really an expensive game? i got all three of those games for a fiver (with the UK economy as it is after the brexit shambles, that prolli equates to about 20 cents US)... actually, i only paid for two of the games, the guy ended up sending me the Space Eagle cart for free after taking so long to post the others... but i'm with you totally on "retro" prices, i refuse to pay over the odds just cos some dude on ebay has an inflated BIN price, if a game's genuinely rare then i'll happily do without the real thing and play it on a flash cart or hack an old cart with an eprom instead... i stopped drinking alcohol when i was in my mid 20's, so the way i look at it is this... if i can buy a single game for less than the price of a pint then even if i only play it once or twice i'm still getting the same (if not better) price per hour enjoyment ratio that i would have gotten from the booze... and i have the added advantage of having another physical object that i can leave for someone to be annoyed about after i peg it...

It's going for about 13-16 for a loose cart on eBay, so not super expensive but not typical Atari cart prices either. I'm kind of hoping to snag a copy in the 5-6 dollar range. That was a heck of a deal on the carts you got; with the current exchange rate that's equal to 6.80 USD! Nice score!

today's pickups... i already have warlords and it's not a rare game, so i intend to replace the rom chip with a homebrew of some kind... it was only £2, so it's perfect donor fodder...

Arrived this week. An Activision game I've been after for a while (had to get manual separate) and the Art of Atari book that just came out. Tim did a stunning job with it !

My latest pickups; got them from two different people on the AtariAge Marketplace on FB. Atari games were from one seller, and Beamrider for Coleco was from another. Still trying to get my hands on the 2600 version of Beamrider... Oink has a pretty much non-existent end label, but the seller ended up throwing it in for free once I said I didn't want it, so I took it. I've been trying to do more business with individuals to pickup games and less on eBay; even if I only save a few dollars, it still helps them and helps me when we cut out the middleman.

cheers for the head's up re: the AAMP FB group, i just joined, i am member 1000 tbh, i don't hold out much hope of buying anything via the group, if it's anything like the marketplace on the regular atariage forum then almost everything is located in the states, and almost everyone neglects to mention their location in the post's header, which means a lot of wasted time clicking to open threads, and a lot of disappointed "aww" noises when i see prices in $$$s and i know that even if the seller was happy to send things to the UK, the postage would prolli cripple me... oh, and yay for Beamrider, one of my fave CV games... try it with a 7800 europad if you have one, it plays like a dream...

Fantastic Voyage is a great game in my opinion. A worthy movie tie-in.
iddod - I know what you mean. The postage rates from the US are awful. For common carts it is usually double what you spend on the cart. I don't know if it's what the true cost of posting is or if it's people getting greedy ? I thought ebay made it difficult for sellers to scam on postage now. I guess the exchange rate doesn't help us either !

postie's been! i know it's not VCS related, but Ferg was playing VCS Breakout last night as part of the Extra Life thing (go donate if you haven't already) and i mentioned this was on it's way... since then he's also played lots of pinball games, mainly NES ones... so, hey

I guess the exchange rate doesn't help us either ! i think the postal rates are genuinely a bit mental, especially if you want any kind of insurance... Ferg was playing Pinball Quest earlier on the live feed, i had a quick go on the everdrive, liked it and so i figured i'd go buy myself a copy... until i realised it wasn't released here and i could either get a famicom version for £4 with a couple of quid postage, or an US NES cart for a tenner with 12 quid postage... it's safe to say that i'll be opting for the famicom cart and pretending i know how to read japanese
